JB was raised in southern Alabama and rode wild bronc mustangs for his adopted step fathers
400 acre ranch. He was very important to their ranch as his step father had a bad back.
JB was taught his Yes Sirs & No Sirs,
Never talked back and ran when he was told to do something.
Through difficult dysfunctional circumstances JB became THE TRUE GRIT COWBOY
Michelle fell in love with and admires beyond compare.
Excessive work with no compensation, an abusive environment, holes in his jeans and duct taped boots.
JB lightened up and headed for Texas to fulfill his dream of being a PRCA Team Roper Champion.
JB now works for a local company drilling oil wells and is happy to be in Texas with wife Michelle & son Johnny Spur who both know he hung the moon !
JB is at the moment a #5 Heeler has already won team roping's at Wildfire in Salado TX, Brother in Laws, Athens TX & Tully's Productions.

In 1999JB made it to Texas and gave a new meaning to ruffing it.
Slept in an old metal horse trailer (no living quarters & mayonnaise sandwiches).
Started making a little money shoeing horses.
Met Texas barrel horse trainer & 1D National Barrel Horse Champion
Michelle McDonald who could also relate to tuff times, loosing Parents and
Grandparents before the age of 25 and God as her only friend.
Raised in the deserts of AZ w/rattlesnakes, roadrunners & Indians.
She recalls having to endure a lot of team roping's as barrel racing was at the
bottom of the list for her Team Roping family.
Rode in the back of the truck on dusty roads as a little girl.
No extended cabs and only a two horse trailer, no room for a barrel horse.
Michelle never had the pleasure of buying a finished barrel horse, but has had to train everyone from start to finish.
She wanted to barrel race so bad at age 9 she snuck off to a barrel race and rode thru the desert 10 miles in her uncles slick seat roping saddle.
Won Her first check at Pinal County Sherrifs Posse Rodeo. On the way back a man in the cotton fields out of no where -
threw his shovel over his shoulder. Her horse ( LUCKY) went into a dead run.
She could not pull him up. They were headed towards a concrete water canal 20 wide 10 deep.
She pulled on the side rein with both hands with all her might. He was hammering...for a mile it seemed... would not slow down.
When she got close to the concrete canal, she kicked him with both spurs as hard as she could, hoping he would grow wings and fly.
She can't remember what happened after that, but is still alive to talk about it now so... Who knows... what happened ?
God works in mysterious ways .
The cherry on top is THE JOHNNY SPUR .
