No slow work out of the box 2. Pull him up out of the pasture and go rope. 3. Not keeping him in shape can cripple them. 4. Running steer after steer with no scoring. 5. No bend (FLEX & BENDING)  We use barrels to circle repeatedly to keep their nose on the rim and push their rib out. Circle at a walk until they relax bend and puts their head down.(BOX WORK - RESET) We use the heelomatic and the box to slow everything down and get rate, flex and headset. Every time you compete on your horse you take out all the handle and add charge. Go back to the practice pen and reincorporate his handle, position, rate etc. He cannot do his best and will get nervous in the box without slow work. Use an empty box and lope out and stop spin and return. Do this several times a week to keep the edge off. This will help him leave flat - stop flat and give him confidence to relax.
