J.B. aka /Stretch is the coolest Cowboy I have ever met. That's why of course I kept him  ; ) He is an awesome Team roping Header, Heeler & can stay in the saddle when a green rank colt gets unruly without hittin the dirt.
Yet humble enough in knowing God and his love for me to combine & compare his talents with mine into the barrel JB_WDD_1training industry to help me keep my futurity colts up to date on their handles. Combining our minds, comparing, studying, processing & over the years coming into agreement that the roping & barrel horses have different needs that both have similarities and can succeed faster, Combining the roping practice and switching to barrel practice every other day or so...
This routine has shown to improve the equine mind in 1/2 the time to train. Leaving the finished product very confident and liking his job means giving you all he's got verses competing through fear.

We only keep 6 outside horses to make sure we give them all the attention they need.
JB and I work together  and combine our  Barrel Racing/Team Roping knowledge together to  all around safe/sound/sane broke - broke horses we hope anyone can ride - preferably automatic with enough wet saddle blankets, slow relaxed patient repetitive reining foundations...  We love the heel-omatic tool to get them focusing on a moving object and listening to body cues when you sit down in the saddle to stop on their own. Then follow it up and apply it to the barrel pattern same technique. Familiarizing them to bit pressure and correct head, neck and full body collection and headset  in the round pen - flex bend and tucking their nose into their chest.  J.B. aka Stretch rides WATCH_DOUBLE_DOC_CROPPEDthem in the arena on the heel-omatic tracking,  then progresses to live cattle heading and heeling out of the box. Patterns them on barrels - focusing on headset - bending - flexing and hip position - lots of slow loping...Reverse arcs, correct leads, nutrition, psychology etc... : )  We feed TOTAL EQUINE FEED and Coastal and or ALFALFA/ORCHARD GRASS mix from Kentucky race stables.
They must have all their vaccinations
and wormers, coggins update before they arrive. bring your own winter blankets and halters.
We focus on safety, keeping them sound and mentally thriving. We want them to like what they do, offering many rewards, breaks and apple flavored horse treats for good behavior..  Basic reining - side pass - reverse arcs -slow flat spins - slide stops - nose into chest - not moon gazing and lots of flex and bend using the barrel pattern at a trot. Which most all the ropers wives and daughters appreciate the fact they can get on Dads rope horse and go cruise the barrel pattern as an added bonus. Just makes the horse more valuable if he is all around and makes an all around well broke horse doing both, Breaks it up for them. Our arena is in our front yard. it is sandy and soft, helps protect them from injury. Our stalls are 16 x 16 safe - welded horse wire and pipe. Our gates are locked for security and so we can get our riding done without interruption. Guard dogs are turned loose when we leave for added security when we leave.

Yes it's the same horse. They TRAINING_LIVEWIRE__CORY_BUCKINGTraining_LW_lead_rubsay he has the best of manners in the race gates props his foot up and waitswhile the other horses are frantic.

J.B. trains all my ba
rrel horses from scratch to barrel race and rope...with a reiners handle & keeps them tuned up and working nicely...  COCO_1B_crop_Best
A barrel horse can go back to the barrels and be REFRESHED after tracking the heelomatic 30 days and getting on his butt - backing off the bit.
Backs them off the bit, rolls them ba
ck onto their rear ends and gives them something else to think about than just running...
He uses a martingale routine on the barrel pattern for all our horses no matter what and getting them to flex at the poll and get light in the mouth is such as blessing on a hard running rope or barrel horse.
